Its 1:30am now...
...and I am still at work :(
Remember in my last post when I mention how, even though its crunch time, its not as stressful as I use to remember, mostly cause now, I aint the one in charge?
I think I spoke too soon and I take that back. Almost on that same day when I wrote that, I get into two separate very heated arguments with 2 of my co workers, one of which was celebrating a birthday too that day, and I am sure he didn't appreciated our war of words...
You know what's really bad? Its what this project is doing to my body! I eating nothing but junk food, I have absolutely no time to go work out, and I drink about 5 cans of Diet Coke a day. And on top of that, I have a hard time falling asleep (probably something to do with all those Diet Cokes!).
The stress is really getting to us all but it aint over yet. And it will only get worst. Next week, we have a bigwig from Japan flying down just to supervise us in our final hour...
And it isn't always that you find more major problems the closer you get to the deadline...I can't wait to see what's coming up next :(

MEAT HATER!
Okay...its official...I am exhausted. This weekend, I tried not to go out...er as much as I was....and kinda took it easy cuz this overwork / lack of sleep is getting to me. Still got a couple of weeks of production left before we go month long into debug and some breathing space....
I truely can't wait til this project will be done, because not only will I go on my vacation back to Toronto for a couple of weeks, but it will also be downtime for awhile here at work, which means, I can finally have back my life / restart a life here, where I can leave somewhat early and do stuff during the week.
Anyways...highlights of this past week:
--got to go into the studio, with the VOICE himself, Charles Martinet, who does all of Mario's voice. We were recording some final voices for the game. Mr. Martinet was one of the most talented persons I have met. He is TRUELY the voice of Mario. No...HE IS MARIO. Any situation we ask him to do, he can...we would suggested 5 different variations on one thing, and he gives us about 15 different versions. It was a great pleasure to work with him and I hope to see him again.
--worked at an average of til midnight everynite. One nite, I was there til like 1am because my computer COMPLETELY died on me in the middle of the night. Even though, I was on the phone with are IT guy for like a hour, trying to recover my work for the night, it was not recoverable. And instead of just giving up and going home, I went onto another computer and finished my task. That's dedication!
--you know, this is my first CRUNCH time in a long time, last one being in 2001 for the end of Smuggler's Run 2. So, for the last couple of years, I have been "coasting" from project to project, never seeing a project til the end, until now. You know, it has been nice to NOT be in crunch time for this long but, not saving I miss it, its good be a part of a project til the end.
--and you know, I was actually going to write how this is one of the most least stressful crunch time I had, partly because of the great team I work with but also cause I am not 100% in charge which relieves a lot of pressure of me. But before I can even write that last week, I get into a heated meeting which I kinda freaked out a bit. Yes, work is getting to me.
--despite saying I wasn't going to go out this weekend, I ended up going out on Friday nite to celebrate Scott's birthday.
Lowlight of the night: watching Scott and his gf argue on his birthday and outside the poolhall we were going, which ended with Scott's gf throw his cellphone on the ground.
Highlight of the night: me kicking ass at pool and then going Dick's Drive In for some burgers at 1am in a car that has a bumper sticker that sez " MEAT HATER!" I can't believe we forced our vegetarian friend to go there!
--saturday: home depot in the moring to watch some guy teach us how to tile, went to work and then went to see sneak peek of "Starsky and Hutch". It was alright. I was hoping for more out there comedy like Old School, but there wasn't too many. Went home later to get some sleep instead of staying up. Ended up staying up all night watching SNL and putting up my old posters in new poster frames in my place. Not good.
--sunday: worked again. But went home early cuz I wasn't feeling too well, but mostly I think I was exhausted. Later that night, went over to friend's house to watch series finale of "Sex in the City". Yes, that show is a guilty pleasure of mines.

Could you be an angel and treat me like the devil tonite...
You know, as surprising it is to me and my friends, no matter how busy, or how tired I am from work, I still manage to come out and party with my friends. I am sure this is slowly killing me but til it really rears its ugly head, I will continue work hard and party harder...case in point, this past weekend....
On Friday, despite working really late that whole week, and the fact that most people even cancelled, I still went out. Why? To hang out with Linh and to go see both our favorite live hip hop band, Jambalya at the Baltic Room. They were great as usual and the DJ even played some Al Green's "Lets Stay Together" during the intermission. Unfortunately, I was really dead tired and couldn't really dwell to deeply into the music. I left around 12:30am and went straight to bed, sleeping in on Saturday before I went to work in the afternoon.
Oh yes...Saturday. Valentine's Day. Well, I had absolutely NOTHING planned and didn't care if I did anything at all. Well, long story short:
--ended up hanging out with Justin before we headed to dinner with a couple of his friends whom took over a small room at some Korean restaurant. Though I knew very few of the people there, I had a blast. I met a lot of cool people.
--went to Showbox for Funk Night. Though, its normally $15 cover, tonite was couples nite so its 2 for price of 1. I was Justin's bitch that night.
--Showbox wasn't as crowded as the last time but we had still had a good time. Music was good but mostly spent the night takin' snap shots of each other on the dance floor.
--they had a TV show being filmed at the club too. Stir TV was there conducting interviews with the party peeps about what's their best pick up line. I gave Justin mines, who went and actually used it in front of the camera, "Could you be an angel and treat me like the devil tonite..." and the host LOVED it. Btw...the host was INCREDIBLE HOT but we later found out she was only 18 years old! How the heck did she even get into the club!
--also walked away with a tshirt. we all did!
--went to our traditional 3am eatery place, Purple Dot where I introduced all my rowdy friends to the beautiful Lisa, who was our hostess. They all loved her...
--and ending this great night, I get a drunken phone call from Denny and NZ. What a perfect way to end the night.
--slept in. Work Sunday.
On a cool side note...
Went to Best Buy Sunday night. Saw John Mayer there buying Xbox. He's a tall guy.

A simple thought while working at 10:46pm...
Been watching Traffic: The Miniseries on USA Network. Its a 3 part, 6 hour "epic" "inspired" by the filmed version of Traffic (which is in turned inspired by that British series "Traffik"). Short review...it was okay...last part was kinda lame, nothing shocking and turned the whole story about "drugs" into how terrorism will hit America thru drugs (very preachy message), which in turn feels like it will lead into a lame tv series.
Anyways...I remember watching the Traffic movie when I lived in San Diego and funny thing was, the movie did take place in San Diego, where it was like a major port for drug entry into America....
Now I am watching Traffic: The Miniseries here in Seattle and ODDLY enough, this series takes place IN SEATTLE (actually, its filmed in Vancouver because there's no way Seattle's Chinatown can be that "happening!") Hmmmm....what a strange coincident...
Boy, I am tired...

I beg your continued patronage...
Alrighty then...been awhile since I really blogged, so here I go...in point form, babee!!
--as you can probably tell, I am EXTREMELY busy now. Like, work til Midnite busy. One week, I pretty much work everyday til midnight and even worked on the both days of the weekend just so we can build a rom to send to Japan. Lets just say it was hell but I got 2 days off to recover. Unfortunatlely, I never took those 2 days to truely recover (aka SLEEP) so now I suffer cuz I am back into the fire...
--worst moment these past days because of work? How about goin' out on Saturday night (after working all day on Saturday) knowing that you will have Sunday off, only to GET A CALL at 10pm to come into work on SUNDAY!! And SUPERBOWL SUNDAY NO LESS!! OUCH!! Now, I dont really mind coming in on Sunday cause I knew it would probably take a hour to fix BUT what was hard was to call OTHER PEOPLE to come in as well. And I had to call them in the morning when I should have been sleeping in :( Anyways, I called...only one other person needed to come, we fixed problem, out in 1 hour, still able to make Superbowl Sunday!! YEAH!!
--yes, did the whole Superbowl Sunday. Game was great...commercial was lame and the half time show was....er...interesting(?).
--after Superbowl, when to the peelers only to forget my work ID badge there. What a place to lose it!! Luckily, I am not married or I would probably be dead now :)
--when to Lunar New Years dinner party. It was alright. Not as exciting or as fun as last year. Did meet this really cool Japanese girls who loved talking about video games with me. And I met this girl name WING also! Wow!
--this past weekend, I got to celebrate Justin's bday at the Broadway Grill (Jalapeno corn fries!!) and then Last Supper Club. Alright, before the party, Justin told us all that he really couldn't handle alcohol so be gentle with him. Of course, this is reason enough to get him REALLY FUCKED UP! :) But he wasn't joking. About 1 hour into the club and a couple of drinks from his friends, he already threw up and was passing out so someone had to get him home! Basically, we had a birthday party without the birthday boy. Fun night though. Happy Birthday pal...you deserve it!

--remember that Japanese girl I met at that Lunar New Years dinner? Well, she wrote me the most polite japanese english email I have ever recieved telling me how great it was to meet me. And she ends the email, "I beg your continued patronage"! Hell yeah I am going to lunch with her! :)
--went to another bday dinner at a very expensive Japanese restaurant for someone I really dont know. Didn't want to spend so much so I order the least amount I can get without breaking my bank and still filling me up. So, I ordered about 15 bucks worth of sushi (which was only like 2 rolls and 2 pieces). Anyways, ending up paying 40 bucks that night, because everyone else said we should "split" the bill evenly. MUTHERFOKER!!!
That's my life. Did I mention I am tired?
