Can you tell...

that I am doing really not much at work on a Saturday, if I have already posted 3 times in my blogs?

Okay...back to work (seriously!).
So Close

Did I mention I saw a really bad movie last nite? After going to a really bland dinner party/gala, we all decided to watch a midnight movie during the Seattle International Film Festival (or SIFF) which was taking place now. The movie was called, "So Close" and its basically a Chinese Charlie's Angel (kinda) which is the best way to describe it if you ever seen the trailer.

Well, I already saw the movie. Not only that, I use to own the VCD of it (and may have even written a review on it...need to check...). I said use to own it because this movie was SOOOOOO BAD that I gave away my VCD. Yes, I hated this movie cuz it was incredibly cheesy and the movie just doesn't make any sense at all. Sure, the girls are incredible cute to look at and some of the action sequences were awesome, but it still incredibly hard to watch.

Well, I had no choice in the matter of seeing it or not, since I didn't drive tonite and my ride really wanted to go see it. Oh well, at least I was seeing it with a lot of cool people and the theatre was quite pack.

You know, the second time around, it was a little easier to stomach because the audience really got into the how bad the movie was. I mean, the movie uses those GHETTO Hong Kong movie subtitles, y'know with the really small white fonts that's in Chinese and English and right at the start, the openning scene had the subtitles against a WHITE table, so no one knew what he was saying! Not only that, there was one WHOLE ENTIRE scene in which the subtitles just disappeared.

Bad movie. Good people. Fun night.
Three's Company

So, its Saturday afternoon and I get a call at work. Its NZ from Texas. He called me just to ask who was the second blond girl on Three's Company, between Crissy and Terri.

The answer is Cindy Snow.

Yes, I am at work on a Saturday. Blah! Don't worry, I am taking tomorrow off.

Sleep Reading

Last night I had very freaky experience (no, not another ghost). Basically, I was ready to go to bed. I took some Nyquil because I was a little sick but I really wanted to get a deep sleep as well. Anyways, ready to sleep but before I did, I started to read a couple of chapters from this book I was reading. So, after a couple of chapters, I turned the lights off and went to bed.

Instead of falling right to sleep, I ended up only being half asleep. And the other half, well, I ended up doing something I like to call "Sleep Reading". Basically, my brain kept "reading" or continuing the book I was reading as though I wasn't still reading and starting making its own story of what happened next. It got to the point that I couldn't tell the differences of what I read and what was being made up in my head. Eventually, the reading voice in my head started talking to me! I did fully wake up to try to stop it but it still kept going. It was like a radio in my head and it would not shut up. It was very freaky.

Anyways, this kept me up til 3am before I couldn't take it anymore. I went out to my living room and slept on my futon with the tv on. It was the only way to block the readings in my head.

This didn't help me because I really needed to be up really early the next day. Basically, my brain was mush at work and I really couldn't do much.

Gotta lay off that Nyquil shit!

Memorial Weekend

Didn't really do much this weekend, but I did take it off (all 3 days) instead of coming into work. This will probably be one of the last weekends I get off because come Tuesday, HELL begins yet again. Anyways, lets recap this lazy yet relaxing weekend:

--Friday night: went to movies. Saw Bruce Almight. Its sucked. (look out for a HUGE ReviewCity! update!). Watch the girls in the group play with my Gameboy Advance SP and Warioware. They were addicted and help me unlock a lot of microgames from their playing.
--Saturday morning. Help friend Oi-Yan move into her new place. Came late so, all the packing was done. Helped out my holding the computer in the car and making sure it didn't tip over during turns. Got free Dim Sum lunch for doing all that. Yummy.
--Saturday nite: Went to play pool and arcade games at Julian's. Had 2am meal at IHOP.
--Sunday: went around town doing errands. Oh, I did sleep in too.
--Monday. Went Hiking with my friend Linh. Actually, we were supposed to go fishing but because we didn't leave til 3pm (!), we decided to go hiking while the other two in our group still wanted to go fishing. We hiked/fished for 2 hours before driving back in horrible traffic. Ate okay Mexican for dinner.

Fun Fun Fun.

E3: The Definitive Report!

Okay! Okay! I keep doing this to myself. I keep putting off writing major entries into my blog because I have so much I wanna write and got a little lazy/busy and now its like a week later, and I dont really remember what to write and/or its kinda pointless now to write about something that been over a week overdue! DOH!

Anyways, E3 in a nutshell is as follows:

--E3, the show was okay, a disappointment when compared to other E3s. There were alot of good games, very few GREAT and none that was a SHOWSTOPPER (though Half Life 2 was pretty close).
--mostly hanged out with my friend Jon throughout the whole show and afterwards. I got see a lot my old Southern Cali friends and even got meet a couple of cool new people.
--Because the show was at somepoints boring, ended up amusing ourselves by filming ppl on film and going after lots of swags.
--on the weekend, got to hang out and stay with Ben and finally meet his cool girlfriend. Hanged out at Venice Beach and went geek shopping. Got to even see old highschool buddy, Abz!
--ate at a lot of ghetto restaurants including Zankou Chicken and Rosco's. Unfortunately, still didn't have time to eat at Noodle Planet, In N Out Burgers or get a Carne Asada burrito.

Well, the photos are also up from E3. Check them out here:

Special thx to Sze who donated half the photos you see in my album. You rock, girl!!

Yah! I finally posted!

Blogging after E3!

I WILL DO THAT WHEN I AM GOOD AND READY, BIATCHES!!!

Actually, I am right now uploading my photos to my album and will be making that available soon. As well, I have to write a report about E3 for work anyways so, I plan to use snippets of that document in my true E3 blog entry. There's a lot to say, so stay tune.

Blogging before E3

So its like 3:30am in the morning on Wednesday. I have to be at work like at 4am, to wait for a shuttle that will get me to the airport for my 7am flight to LA, in which I will land at LAX at like 10am and hopefully get to the Convention Center for E3 by 11am. Yippee! So, what to do now? Well, blog I guess...

So, Monday was one of the most unproductive and relaxing days I had at work, since I first started here. Because, half the company was flying to E3 the next day, most of them left early. Not only that, we were planning to move the cubicles around so they needed everyone (everyone except me) to remove all their stuff off their desk, including their computers. So, with most computers disconnected, there was no reason to stay at work, so the other half left early as well. I left early too, even though I still had a functioning computer, because it just felt empty for me to stay. But I did manage to do some work...probably more than anyone that day.

Leaving early on Monday gave me an excuse to have dinner with a friend and to runs some errands as well. I also got to stay up late because I didn't have to go to work the next day until after lunch because of all the cubicle moving. Sleep is good.

Tuesday...slept in and then took the morning to iron my clothes before I packed it for E3. Went into work and whole office was a mess. Once again, no real work was done and I left early again. It was great. Had dinner at a friends house and then got to go have dessert with some friends in downtown Bellevue. Got home about midnite and THEN I started packing. Been up since. CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT IT DOES TO ME AT E3 (the lack of sleep). Woohoo!

SO...what the heck was the point of this entry? I guess to show, when I am busy, I have nothing to write about and when I have free time, I STILL dont have nothing to write about. But for me, this is kinda the life I am missing and want. I want to be able to leave work and see friends afterwork and do stuff afterwork. I rather stay up late with friends then to stay up late at work. I want a life, dammit! *sigh* These two days were awesome!

Day 20 of Hell: The End

Saturday...came in to work at 10 am because no one else would and I needed to let the tester in so he can start early and test our FINAL build for E3. Together with the tester, we tested the game til 5pm before we finally got the approval that its done!! Though I am happy that it was finally done, the damn ROM could have been approved on Friday nite instead and we would have all gotten Saturday off as well. Oh well...its over. Now, all I have to do is wait for E3! WOOHOO!!

To celebrate, Sheldon and Vivek and I went to a niteclub. We went to the Standard, which that nite, there was this special Singles party going on. That party SUCKED. Very few ppl actually there and were mostly guys. But we made the most outta of the night. Sheldon and Vivek got to meet a lot my friends who were there and we made very good friends with the bartender who was serving us, especially with the amount of alcohol we were buying from her. I think we have our VIP pass into the club if we every need to go again.

Did I mention that that nite also became "get me as drunk as possible" night? I think I had like 5 Red Bull and Volkas, one Yager shot and one Long Island Ice Tea. I was completely hammered that night.

After the party, we were to head out for some Karaoking. We ended up not going because we were completely lost and Vivek (who was actually more drunk than I was) was in the back of car kept asking to go home. After we agreed, he passed out as we drove him home. During our drive, I recieved a drunken phone call at 2am from Denny. But this was not your typical drunken phone call at 2am, because usually I am NOT drunk when I get them and he wasn't calling from San Fran but from a hot tub with a bunch of girls in Miami. Oh Denny...

I got home around 3 am and completely passed out. Woke up around 6 am with the worst headache. So this is how a hangover is...

Sunday...my first day off and I spent it going kayaking down one of the many waterways of Seattle. We tried to paddle towards Bill Gate's house, but we didn't have much time and we were very tired. Though this was one event I didn't think of doing on my first day off to relax, I still had a good time.

E3ing

Its that time of the year again. Its time for Geekfest 2K3 (aka E3) and yours truely will be going to down to LA once again to see the latest and greatest in slacking off technology. Woohoo! And this time, on my company's dime! Double Woohoo!

Actually, I can't wait to go. This year's E3 will be my excuse to return to Southern California and see old friends and eat lots of good So. Cal food (Carne Asada burrito anyone?). And probably my last vacation for a long time, as when I get back to Seattle, it will be crunch time til I ship the game.

I will be in LA starting next Wednesday morning for the openning of the show and actually will be staying in LA til Sunday evening. I dont know what i will be doing after the show on the weekend but anything is possible. Magic Mountain? Disneyland? Canoeing? Who knows? I may even head down to San Diego!

So, all those going to be in E3 or LA then, let me know. We will need to hang!

Day 14 of Hell: Working and Waiting on the Weekend

Today is Sunday. I am at work. Yesterday, was Saturday. I was at work too. In a deseparate attempt to force me to have a life, my friend Linh forced me to come out on Saturday nite, because she knew and worried about how stressed out and tired and depressed I have been. Here are the highlights:

--met her at her friend's house (actually, her friend's boyfriend's house...ACTUALLY...her friend is actually someone I INTRODUCED to her...funny how they got to know each other better than I did). Watched a video taping of my friend's friend as she got to meet current Bachelor, Andrew Firestone.
--went to a house party around 11:45pm held by some 30 something bunch of dot com types. The party kinda sucked. It died very quickly, especially since we realized we were the only one dancing to the horrible music they were playing. We left around 12:30am. "This place is dead anyways..."
--ended up at this bar, in which I thought at first was a lounge and then when I got there I realized it was just a typical bar filled with drunk college kids, called The Red Door in Fremont (actually, I have been there before). Watched as the females in our group decided to try to pick up on this one guy who turned out to be very dull and didn't say much. I thought he was gay.
--after last call, when to the Broadway Grill in Capital Hill for some grub. They had the most AWESOME Jalapeno Corn fries we had ever had. Simply amazing.
--got home at 3am. Slept til 1pm. Most sleep I have gotten in weeks.
--now at work. Hooray.

Anyways, its Sunday and I am here to do some work but mostly to make sure we have a build ready by TONITE (whenever that is) so testing can play it Monday morning. Not really too much work...just alot of waiting.

Okay...I lied...

I got home at 1am. Early nite for me...
